Held on Wednesday evenings (February -June) from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center\, this program invites participants of all abilities\, address 8+ to engage in an immersive dance cultural experience. \nEach session focuses on a different aspect of African diaspora traditions\, blending historical and cultural insights with movement and music practices. Participants will explore dance forms such as vintage jazz\, Samba\, Orisha dances\, and Afro-Brazilian traditions while learning their historical significance and modern evolution. Guided by experienced artists and facilitators\, the program fosters a sense of community\, cultural pride\, and personal connection through the arts. \nSessions include a welcome\, community check-in\, short warm-up\, movement practice\, choreography\, and reflective discussions. Participants will explore dance forms such as vintage jazz\, Samba\, Orisha dances\, and Afro-Brazilian traditions while learning their historical significance and modern evolution. DESCRIPTION:Presented by Charlotte Cirque & Dance Center\nWhen: Thursdays from February 6 through May 1 (7pm – 8pm)\nWhere: Berewick Recreation Center (5910 Dixie River Rd\, Charlotte\, NC 28278)\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn how to breakdance or improve your breakin’ skills with B-Boy Matt Sanchez. \n\n\nAt the end of the Breakdancing Series\, you will have the option to perform at our International Circus and Dance Celebration on Saturday\, May 3 from 1pm – 4pm at the Berewick Recreation Center. Performance is not required but encouraged to share your knowledge with our community. Ages 8+. \n
