Playing their minor-league ball in small\, remote towns where racial segregation remained a fact of life well into the 1960s\, these were the men who\, before they could live their big-league dreams\, first had to beat Jim Crow. Featuring original\, revealing interviews with James “Mudcat” Grant\, Grover “Deacon” Jones\, Jimmy Wynn\, J.R. Richard\, Tony Pérez\, and Orlando Cepeda\, among others.” \nA talkback will follow the screening. \nThis program is free and open to the public. Please register in advance.
