Harris Boulevard\, Charlotte\, NC 28262)\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nKathie Collins\, co-founder and creative director of Charlotte Lit\, is a poet\, mythologist\, and lifelong student of Jungian psychology—which\, consciously and unconsciously\, makes its way into her work. She earned her graduate degrees in mythological studies at Pacifica Graduate Institute\, where she also served as adjunct faculty. Kathie is author of Jubilee (Main Street Rag). Her poems have appeared in Immanence\, Kakalak\, Pedestal Magazine\, Flying South\, and elsewhere. \nCharlotte Poet Laureate Jay Ward will meet with any interested writers to answer questions\, work on poems\, and provide feedback\, from 3:00-4:30.

This free screening includes: \n\nAliza Nisenbaum: Painting from Life\, directed by Ian Forster\nCulminating with the opening of Nisenbaum’s Queens Museum exhibition Queens\, Lindo y Querido\, this film follows the development of Nisenbaum’s observational portraiture and highlights the power of a social engaged art practice to make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities.\nPatsy\, directed by John Valley\nPATSY is about an Asian American woman in her 30s going through a divorce triggered by a traumatic miscarriage trying to find love again\, and learning how to say “no.”\nI Am Not Your Black Girl\, directed by Ricki Nelson and Jacqueline Mangrum\nI AM NOT YOUR BLACK GIRL is a poignant visual embodiment of a poem by the same name\, reclaiming the identity of one Black woman against societal impositions.\nUnwavering\, directed by Alexandra Hsu\nCarolyn Kim joins a college student movement for Ethic Studies in 1968. Inspired by real events.\n\nThis screening will also include a post-screening discussions and Q&A with filmmakers Jacqueline Mangrum\, Ricki Nelson\, and Eric Alan Rousseau. \nTrigger warning: the content programmed for this screening contains depictions of and themes based on miscarriages.
