Held on Wednesday evenings (February -June) from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center\, this program invites participants of all abilities\, address 8+ to engage in an immersive dance cultural experience. \nEach session focuses on a different aspect of African diaspora traditions\, blending historical and cultural insights with movement and music practices. Participants will explore dance forms such as vintage jazz\, Samba\, Orisha dances\, and Afro-Brazilian traditions while learning their historical significance and modern evolution. Guided by experienced artists and facilitators\, the program fosters a sense of community\, cultural pride\, and personal connection through the arts. \nSessions include a welcome\, community check-in\, short warm-up\, movement practice\, choreography\, and reflective discussions. Embodying Legacy is designed to honor and preserve the stories of resilience\, identity\, and heritage that have shaped these artistic expressions. \nThis inclusive program is an opportunity to learn\, connect\, and celebrate the enduring legacies of African and African-descendant communities.
