Applications will close on April 6th for ASC’s 2025 Emerging Creators Fellowship and the Creative Renewal Fellowship — two major opportunities to support your growth, experimentation, and sustainability as a working artist.

Emerging Creators Fellowship 

$10,000 |Deadline: Sunday, April 6, 2025 @ Midnight

Designed for early-career (2–9 years) vocational creatives in Mecklenburg County, this fellowship gives you space to grow, take risks, and commit to a new body of work. 

Think: 

• Apprenticeships or residencies 

• New materials or methods 

• Workshops, research, or exploration 

• Experimental projects that push you out of your comfort zone 

Applicant perspective: 
“This will provide me the space to learn new skillsets or methods that push me creatively. It’s about taking risks that expand what I do in my practice.” 

Creative Renewal Fellowship 

$15,000 |Deadline: Sunday, April 6, 2025 @ Midnight

This is for established Mecklenburg County artists with 10+ years of experience who need intentional time to pause, reflect, and refresh their creative vision — like an artist sabbatical. 

Think: 

• Restorative retreats 

• Reconnection with your craft 

• Time to dream up what’s next 

Applicant perspective: 
“I’m feeling on the verge of burnout. This time will help me reset and find renewal — space that brings back energy and expands what I create moving forward.”
