Community Engagement for University City Public Art

Help inspire the work of local artist Matthew Steele by participating in a virtual Community Engagement from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28.

Steele has been commissioned by ASC to create public artwork for the City of Charlotte-funded J.W. Clay Boulevard Streetscape project in the University City area.

During his Community Engagement, he will provide an overview of his experience and past projects and listen to residents to learn about the history of the area to inspire his artwork.

He’s especially interested in hearing University City residents respond to the following question: What are some significant pieces of history associated with this neighborhood, personal or otherwise?

ASC staff will participate in the virtual Community Engagement. ASC manages the public art programs for Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte.

RSVP for the Community Engagement by 6 p.m. Monday, June 27, to receive the meeting link.
