Job Description – Academy Dance Instructor, Ballet
The Academy Dance Instructor, Ballet will be responsible for providing classical Ballet instruction to students enrolled in the Charlotte Ballet Academy.
The Academy Dance Instructor will report to the Associate Director, Lower School and the Academy Director. This position provides instruction and support to Charlotte Ballet Academy students through in-studio dance training, and allows for Academy school year and/or summer program instruction.

Job Duties
- Prepare classes and instruct students on foundational classical ballet
- Identify appropriate goals for guiding classes through curriculum
- Plan classes with genre appropriate warm-up, progressive exercises, and conclusion
- Instruct students through clear explanation, demonstration, and lesson reinforcement
- For school year programs, provide feedback on student progress in the form of annual written evaluations, parent meetings, and director meetings
- Choreograph and present for students’ end of year showcase as assigned
- Attend faculty and curriculum meetings as needed
Education, Qualifications, and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in dance or dance education, or equivalent professional experience training Ballet and pedagogy
- 3 years of teaching experience preferred
- Experience teaching students ages 3-12 strongly preferred
- Saturday availability preferred, not required
FLSA Status/Classification
- This position is considered Part-Time and Non-Exempt in status.
Compensation
- $40.00 – $45.00 per hour DOE

- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
- Ballet: 1 year (Required)
