Blumenthal Arts seeks a L.E.A.P. Program Classroom Assistant to assist with our Literacy Engagement through Arts Program. This temporary contract position expecting 6 to 12 hours of work per week for roughly 25 weeks (September to March following the CMS calendar).

Your impact:

  • Assist the lead Teaching Artist for all Blumenthal L.E.A.P. classes with regard to curriculum facilitation, classroom management, discipline, and individual instruction.
  • Prepare material and supplies as directed by the Teaching Artist and collaborate with Education Initiatives Manager to coordinate purchasing and distribution.
  • Support facilitation of provided curriculum and meet all program deadlines for projects.
  • Assemble and organize all student materials for the final product of the program, a book featuring an individual story and piece of artwork from the participating students.
  • Collect and maintain program documentation including surveys, feedback, participation statistics, quality photos and videos as well as communicating information to marketing and development.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed tracking and documentation including providing necessary information for development reports.

Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or theater education
  • At least 2 years of classroom experience
  • Experience in Title I schools preferred
  • Classroom management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solving utilizing creative solutions
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
