ASC Announces Board Leadership and New Directors

ASC is pleased to announce the leadership of its Board of Directors and new board members for fiscal year 2022-23.
Mike Vasaune, a senior director with TIAA, serves as board chair. A graduate of ASC’s Cultural Leadership Training program (2014) and Community Building Initiative’s Leadership Development Initiative (2017), Vasaune has served on ASC’s Board of Directors since 2014 and has held multiple board leadership roles, including serving as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and the Data Committee, as well as on the board Finance Committee.
An outspoken champion of diversity, inclusion and equity, he will help guide ASC’s mission of investing in people, programs and ideas that move Charlotte-Mecklenburg towards a more equitable, sustainable and innovative creative ecosystem.
“ASC’s upcoming year will focus on expanding connections with individual donors and growing our impact through grant recipients,” Vasaune said. “We also continue to deepen our investment in creative individuals and arts, science and history organizations of all sizes in partnership with Mecklenburg County, the City of Charlotte, the surrounding municipalities, the state of North Carolina and private donors.”
ASC Board leadership also includes Chair-Elect Anthony Perez, Chief Operating Officer, SOLID Surface Care, Inc.; Treasurer Durral Gilbert, community volunteer; Secretary Nalan Karakaya Mulder, Head of Virtual Channels Compliance, Wells Fargo; and Immediate Past Board Chair Susan L. Patterson, community volunteer.
New ASC Board members are Tiffany Fuller, Vice President of Human Resources, ISC, Honeywell; Michelle Glessner, Co-Head of Trademark, Moore & Van Allen; Leslie Johnson, Deputy County Manager, Mecklenburg County; Ashley Kakas, Vice President of Marketing – Canteen, Compass Group USA; Marcie Kelso, Partner/Director of Accounts & Strategy, Kelso Communications; and Irene Vogelsong, Associate, Principal, Corporate Interiors, Perkins&Will of North Carolina and Chair of the Public Art Commission.
