Your impact:

• Lead Production Managers, Interns, and Stagehands to ensure productivity and team harmony
• Supervise stage/technical crew members, interns, and other employees as necessary and provide oversight of stage, sound, and lighting equipment for events and activities
• Coach and develop the skills of Production Managers by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and implementing development plans to ensure continuous growth and to round out individual ability
• Work with Programming, rental clients, and resident companies, rental personnel to determine production needs and budgets
• Conceptualize, install, inventory, operate, and service theatrical equipment systems and infrastructures both theatrical and non-theatrical
• Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of rigging systems, genie lifts, orchestra lifts and other stage systems for safety as well as operations
• Manage theatrical systems – including venue and event paperwork using industry standard applications
• Prepare annual operating budget for department and capital expenditure projects
• Generate or delegate labor and equipment estimates for upcoming shows
• Review all department purchase orders and check requests
• Review accident and incident reports to identify action items and solve root cause
• Maintains knowledge of Employee Handbook, Evacuation Plans, and ADA & OSHA regulations
• Act as Blumenthal Arts primary liaison with the IATSE Local 322, respond to grievances / contract disputes, and assist in contract negotiation

Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in technical theater or related field
• At least 10 years of experience in technical theater/technical production
• 5 years of experience in a management position
• Experience in multi-theater venue that both produces events and supports touring shows is preferred
• Specialty in lighting, audio, rigging, or video
• Experience with AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or Lightwright design software
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot theatrical system issues including signal flow, digital and analog systems, and networking systems
• Moving lights, LED lighting, and conventional lighting and troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience with Q-Lab programming and operations
• Basic understanding of projection and video equipment including HD, SDI, DVI, and HDCP as it relates to video connections
• Project management knowledge
