Harvey B. Gantt Center - Digital Arts Studio Manager

The Gantt Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to supervise and manage its digital arts & content studio, MODA. For the Gantt, this is an exciting time as it transformed its traditional classroom space into a contemporary digital hub of inspiration, creativity, and collaboration. With this transformation initiative, the Gantt is expanding its audience reach by providing community access to tools and technology supported by high-quality instruction and programming. The studio’s focus centers on digital disciplines including photography, videography, filmmaking, animation, graphic design, illustration, etc. This position reports to the Director of Technology & Innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Host/assist guests as they use the studio and its contents.
  • Partner with Program Managers and Visitor Experience & Guest Services teams to coordinate studio use.
  • Operate and manage the studio to ensure optimal efficiency and access.
  • Steward and maintain the studio’s calendar.
  • Field, qualify, and follow up on booking/reservation requests.
  • Lead the basic maintenance of studio equipment and software.
  • Assume responsibility for studio preparation, including minor maintenance and cleanup, audio/visual setup, and recommend, as necessary, appropriate studio supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve studio operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to studio operations.
  • Maintain communication with the team and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Document and report various studio activities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and standards when operating the studio.
  • Other minor related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree or commensurate relative experience
  • Possess adequate combination of skills from the aforementioned focus areas
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite of applications
  • Commitment to the mission and philosophy of the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture
  • Sensitivity to the needs and expectations of students, artists, community groups and colleagues
  • Ability to be organized, accurate, and punctual with paperwork and assigned tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments and teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technology such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

This is an in-office position with hours varying based on studio usage. Weekend and evening hours are required as programming and other events dictate.

Benefits

Pay: This is a full-time, salaried position. The pay range is 49,850.00 to 56,500.00 per year.

Health Insurance: The Gantt Center will cover 100% of the employee portion of the health insurance and 50% of the dependent portion.

Vacation: 15 days/annually

Personal/Sick Leave: 5 days/annually

Evaluation: Initial 3-month review and annual review on anniversary of employment.
