Charlotte Ballet - Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for all community engagement programming, including Reach, Sensory Friendly, Senior Dress, Community Workshops, and Pre- School Dance Classes. The position will also provide administrative support for the Teaching Artists, which will include support in the hiring process, on-boarding, scheduling, and verification of payroll hours.

The Community Engagement Coordinator will report to the Director of Education and Community Engagement. In addition to the above, this individual will work cross-departmentally with the Academy, Marketing and Communication, Philanthropy, and Production departments. The Community Engagement Coordinator must possess strong organizational skills and superior communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Description

  • Serve as the central point of communication with Reach parents, participants, teaching artists, volunteers, and recreation center staff
  • Maintain student database and records for all programming
  • Assist with orientations, mid-year showings, parent meetings, auditions, and year-end
  • Coordinate with Marketing on the creation and distribution of community engagement programs
  • Send out post-performance surveys and analyze data
  • Coordinate system database for community engagement programming
  • Serve as point of contact for teaching artists’ needs and inquiries
  • Sensory Friendly Performances: Communicate with families, theater and production staff via telephone and email. Check in groups the day of performance. Create and analyze post performance surveys.
  • Senior Dress Rehearsal: Create and maintain database of senior centers and Assist with check in the day of the performance. Communicate with park and recreation staff via telephone and email. Process payments.
  • Website updates, invoice and reconciliations and assist with all education events
  • Teach up to 6 classes per week as needed
  • All other duties assigned by direct manager

Education, Qualifications, and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Arts, Business, Marketing, or related fields with appropriate experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in Community Engagement programming and administration
  • 1-3 years of experience teaching in a studio, classroom or community setting
  • Extensive customer service background
  • Experience working in non-profit organizations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at varying stages of completion
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to relate effectively to a wide range of demographic
  • Ability to listen in order to assist with effective direction or solutions
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal/written communication to internal/external

Preferred experience:

  • Customer relationship management software experience preferred
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp and Cognito forms preferred

FLSA Status/Classification

The position will be considered Full-time and Exempt in status.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $43,000 annually
  • Benefits include: PTO, Sick Time, 403(b) Retirement Plan, Medical/Dental/Vision, Short/Long Term Disability, FSA
