Arts & Science Council Hires Two to Support Fundraising and Communications Activities

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – The Arts & Science Council (ASC) has filled two positions to support its fundraising and communications activities. Chavon Carroll has been named donor marketing officer and Aaron Fiedler as public relations and communications assistant.

In her new role, Carroll will work in the development of strategies and marketing materials for ASC’s fundraising efforts.

She joins ASC from the Cincinnati Museum Center in Cincinnati, Ohio where she was manager of corporate relations. In less than a year’s time, she turned around a struggling division of the organization and more than doubled the revenue raised the previous fiscal year. Her other fundraising experience includes nearly two years of work as a campaign manager for the Fine Arts Fund, the nation’s largest and oldest United Arts Funds.

Carroll is a cum laude graduate of Xavier University. She earned a B.A. in communications with a minor in Spanish. She is married to Charles Carroll and has a 3-year-old daughter, Jordan.

Fiedler will assist in the development of public relations and communications activities, and oversee and coordinate administrative responsibilities for the department.

He brings to ASC diverse experience that includes time working in news, public relations and sports marketing. Locally, he has interned at WTVI, WBTV and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. In the Triangle, he interned at UNC Hospitals and WUNC-FM.

Most recently Fiedler worked as the corporate sales intern for the Carolina Hurricanes NHL team in Raleigh, N.C. In his role he assisted the corporate sales department in all aspects of the sale and service of team sponsorships.

Fiedler is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned a B.A. in journalism with a second major in political science.
