Arts & Science Council Announces $8.7 million Goal for 2012 Make Your Mark Campaign
The Arts & Science Council (ASC), a non-profit that supports Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s arts and cultural community, announced today an $8.7 million goal for its Make Your Mark fundraising campaign. The goal represents a five percent increase from last year’s total of $8.3 million. The campaign ends June 29, 2012.
Dollars from the campaign allows ASC to invest in arts, science and history organizations, education programs and community projects.
“Diversifying ASC’s revenue portfolio is a key strategy in how we can continue to support the cultural sector,” said ASC President Scott Provancher. “The Make Your Mark campaign and over 25,000 individuals and 400 companies that participate in it remain a critical piece of our revenue model. We have also diversified ways the community can support ASC through power2give.org and the restricted fund for education programs.”
Bob James, vice chairman of Fifth Third Bank’s North Carolina board of directors, is leading the community-wide fundraising campaign.
James leads an executive campaign cabinet that includes Emmanuel Choice, leasing associate, Lincoln Harris; Larry Dagenhart, partner, McGuire Woods; Rob Harrington, partner, Robinson Bradshaw Hinson; Lois Ingland, assistant vice president, Carolinas HealthCare System; Katy Knox, retail banking and distribution executive, Bank of America; Linda Lockman-Brooks, president, Lockman-Brooks Marketing; Ginny Mackin, chief communications officer, Duke Energy; John Switzer, managing partner, KPMG and Tom Warshauer, community and commerce manager, city of Charlotte.
