Arts & Science Council Holds Three Community Meetings to Help Shape the Future of Arts and Culture
(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – Area residents are invited to three community meetings to help the Arts & Science Council (ASC) shape the direction and major goals of a cultural vision for Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The meetings will provide an opportunity for residents to voice their ideas and opinions for Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s next cultural action plan. Emerging priorities of the plan range from building a community of lifelong learners in arts, science, history and heritage to driving innovation in programming that is relevant to the changing community.

Cultural planning is a process which identifies the arts and cultural needs and preferences of residents, examines existing resources and opportunities for arts and cultural development and proposes strategies a given community can use to meet its citizens' needs for arts and cultural experiences.
